Goodbye 2012

This year I am taking 2 weeks off for the holidays and it has been so nice.
2012 was a great year, full of growth and exciting opportunities; but it was hard work and on many levels exhausting.  It has been nice to recharge and I really look forward to what 2013 will bring.  Happy New Year to each and every one of you.  I hope 2012 was great for you and I hope 2013 will be even better.

xx,

Marianne

Merry Christmas

From our family to yours, we hope you have a very Merry Christmas!
An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.  But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.  Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.  This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."  Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,  "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests." Luke 2 9:14

Quiet Time

There are no words for the sorrow and devastation I, we all, feel for the families of Sandy Hook Elementary.  Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they who mourn,
for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,
for they shall possess the earth.

Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for justice,
for they shall be satisfied.

Blessed are the merciful,
for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure of heart,
for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called sons of God.

Blessed are they who suffer persecution for justice sake,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
-Matthew 5: 3-12

Follow Up

I want to say a HUGE thank you for all the help yesterday regarding the lamps!  Y'all are good.  It seems that what I have focused in on is antique pottery lamps (of course because they are $$$).  The gorgeous and talented Greet of Belgian Pearls (such a beautiful blog) sent me some sources in Belgium.  This only furthered my suspicions that really I was meant to live there.  One of the stores Greet recommended is AM Projects and look what I found...perfection.
I have requested information from them but I would really like to find them stateside. So we shall see...

Sale Week Interrupted..Lamp Help Needed

Sale week will resume tomorrow but I need help.  I am looking for a lamp similar to the ones in these pictures.  I am coming up empty handed.  Does anyone have a good source?  Is there a particular name I should be searching?  Any buzz words to Google?  Help!

Sale Week: Day 2

The pink embroidery forms a scalloped edge along with a clean 3 line top design.

Of course with pink a girl's bedroom comes to mind but it could be beautiful in a master or guest as well as just a touch of soft color...

Client Pictures

I loved this nursery I did a few years ago and while trying to find a picture of it for someone, I realized I never blogged about it. Well, at least I don't think I did, if this ends up being a duplicate please forgive me.  You will have to excuse the lack of quality in these pictures.  I would go back to get better pictures because this nursery felt so good, but they have moved.  Boo.
There were so many details in the room- the blue trim, the striped ceiling, the monogram on the foot rest, the hooks that held the closet curtain; it was such a divine little home for a new baby.

Straight Talk

Through this blog I get offers to test out products fairly regularly, but usually I pass.  I don't want to bombard readers with product reviews or feel I need to say something I really don't mean.  However, when an offer to review a flat iron came up I had to say yes.  As someone who has battled thick- half straight/half, wavy/frizzy hair for a long time I know a thing or two about flat irons.  Enter in the Hana Elite courtesy of Misikko....

I have to tell you, honestly, I really love it.  I am not just saying this.  It heats quickly and gets hot.  It works so smoothly it doesn't get tangled in my hair, a problem I run across.  The first day I tried it out I did not have time to completely dry my hair and worked great even then.  I find it leaves my hair smooth without losing the body.  I will be using this for a long time.

A huge thank you to Misikko for sending the Hana to me.  The service was quick and so polite, I cannot say enough great things about them.

December Inspiration

Now that it is December I am ready for a little holiday inspiration....
Simple and Simple- both perfection.
I know I posted this image last year but it is still one of my favorite images.
I had to include this, it makes me smile for so many reasons.
After Fridays post you have me thinking maybe I need a Pop Phone.  All this phone talk at Christmas brings me back to one of my most treasured gifts from childhood...
Fact- this phone is still at the top of my closet.  While I am far from a hoarder, I just can't part ways with this blast from the past.  Any favorite gifts from the past you just can't let go of?
