New Set Of Wheels

I would love to have the office one step closer to "finished" and I believe the next step is figuring out the chair situation.  The reupholstered cushions came in but I want to have them sprayed and use them as the desk chairs.  The problem is they are not tall enough for the desks and I really love a desk chair on wheels.
I thought adding casters would be easy but the base of the legs does not allow anything to be screwed in from the bottom and the tapered legs add another difficult element.
One solution is casters made for antique chairs with cups that cater to the tapered legs but so far all that I have found have been at least $13/caster like these.
However, I am unsure of these are made for heavy use and when you multiply them by 4 legs on multiple chairs- chairs that I love but not worth spending too much on- it becomes more than I want to put into these particular chairs.  So, if you know of any options I am not thinking of for these legs please let me know.  I would love to be able to use the chairs if possible.

Segreto Part II

Yesterday I posted about a book I love Segreto, Secrets To Finishing Beautiful Interiors.  However, the book is so full of beautiful spaces I had to share some more (although there is a lot more to be seen in the book).

Gorgeous Finishes, Segreto, Part 1

One of the most important parts of the design process is planning the details.  What can you do to take a space one step farther?  When I received the book, Segreto, Secrets To Finishing Beautiful Interiors, I knew I was in for a treat.  The author, Leslie Sinclair, and her team paint, plaster, stencil, faux finish and more the most amazing spaces.  The book is packed with gorgeous and awe inspiring rooms.  Here are just some.....
Remember this kitchen? One of my all time favorites.....
I highly recommend this book.  The interiors are timeless, elegant, classic and awe inspiring.  Beautiful photography and pages of talented designers make it a wonderful read.

Thank You

I wanted to say a big thank you to Apartment Therapy for featuring MSI's recent pink and gray nursery and Baby Lifestyles for featuring Henry's nursery.  Speaking of the little man, several of you have requested updated pictures.  I will try to get one this weekend to share but for now these are the most recent I have.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Traditional Beauty

While looking through Traditional Home I was taken by these curtains and the play on scale, very interesting....love, love, love.
Not surprising the rest of the house enamored me as well.

Working...Bath and Bed

Sorry for being MIA this week, we have been busy.  The week started with a trip to Memphis to check in on a very cool project and a very dear client.  That will be such a fun job to share with y'all but we are not ready for pictures yet. In the mean time though I can show you the master shower which is amazing. While the tile looks so good in person, it is the shower hardware that had me green with envy.    Steam shower every night? Yes please.
Lots of gorgeous items have been delivered to various clients these past few weeks so I thought I would share one.  Remember this nursery that I loved so much?
It was home to one of my favorite lights, a custom globe we had made just for that precious baby....and now 3 (or is it 4?) years and a new house later he is a precious little boy.....with a new custom headboard fit for a king.
And the light made the move as well.

As we go along I am going to try to be better about taking shots along the way and sharing.  Hope you are having a great week.

Chest Before and After

Thank you for all the e-mails and comments from yesterday's post.  It was a wonderful project and the rest of her house is looking just as good, I can't wait to share!  It will be a while before we can answer the questions we received, and we can't share everything in fairness to the client, but I can give a quick answer to what seemed to get the most inquires...the chest.  I have good news and bad news.

The bad news is the chest is not available from a store.  It is an old (cheap) piece the client had but no longer fit her aesthetic.
The good news is the chest is an old (cheap) piece.  While these clients did lots of DIYS, we had this piece professionally sprayed, which I generally prefer because it looks so good.
Originally we had discussed painting the chest all gray but as the room progressed it was clear that would feel to heavy.  However, the rest of furniture we were using in this room turned out to all be white, even though it was not a set.  I wanted to break up that "set/matchy" look and that is where the different color drawers were born....no pun intended.

Oh, one more thing while we are discussing the chest, the hardware is the same as before, we did not buy it separately.  I never tire of seeing what a little paint can do!

Client Sneak Peek

Today I wanted to share a sneak peek of a clients nursery.  Lots of details to follow....one day...because  there a lot projects in here that the client took on herself!  For starters, they installed all the moulding by themselves!
